My trip to Costa Rica
Hi, my lovies!
As promised, I wanted to share all the details of our Costa Rica trip (travel AND outfit details) in one centralized place! J and I absolutely love to travel and make it a priority to take two adult-only trips each year. That said, our next adventure is a Norwegian Cruise with the kids! I’m not typically a cruise person, but we booked their “Haven” first-class experience, which includes larger luxurious suites, 24-hour butler service, and exclusive amenities. Stay tuned for more on that as we get closer!
Costa Rica Recap:
For this trip, we stayed at the incredible Hotel Punta Islita. J and I are all about one-of-a-kind experiences that really immerse you in the location and nature, and this trip was exactly that. We were truly able to take in Costa Rica's famous landscape from our nature-inspired villa, featuring sustainable, locally-inspired décor and an outdoor living area that let us fully appreciate the surrounding sights and sounds.
Room/Accommodations:
"Luxury with eco-conscious rustic charm" – Our sleeping accommodations were enclosed and air-conditioned, but the rest of the villa had an indoor/outdoor vibe, with an open-air living area that included a plunge pool and a small kitchenette. We could definitely see ourselves bringing the kids here when they're older!
Activities:
The resort has a TON of activities to enjoy, including birdwatching, whale watching, snorkeling, surfing, horseback riding, and so much more. It’s an amazing destination for an active family!
Food:
Dining at each of their restaurants, with superb cuisine and breathtaking ocean views, was an unforgettable experience. The two restaurants offer distinct ambiances, making the most of Costa Rica's fresh, locally-sourced cuisine. As a big seafood lover, everything I tried was incredibly fresh, tasty, and pleasantly surprising.
We did venture off the resort once for a must-try restaurant. Here are the details:
Don Ramiro's – Provincia de Guanacaste, Punta Islita, Costa Rica
This family-owned gem is where the chef changes the menu 2-3 times a week, depending on the fresh, local ingredients available. The food was absolutely incredible! We honestly felt like we were dining at a Michelin-star restaurant in the heart of nature. I can’t recommend this place enough. The owner is amazing, and his entire family works at the restaurant. It’s a real taste of Costa Rica!

"We believe travel should be planet-friendly, people-positive, and we thank you for your interest in sustainability."Travel:
We flew into San Jose, Costa Rica, and took a Sansa Charter flight to the Islita Airstrip. You can also fly into Liberia and take a 2.5-hour shuttle, or a 5-hour shuttle if you fly into San Jose. Since we were only staying for 3 days, we opted for the charter flight to save time.
